New Years Eve!
Living near the water is the name of this painting. That tree is surviving on salt spray and sun! I love the idea of always being able to head to the water and see the ever changing light, water, and mystery of the landscape.

Here is the second dog portrait I finished yesterday - I thought I could load both photos into one blog - does anyone know if that works?

After my feet were frozen in our moment of cold weather in Wilmington yesterday, I thawed them out in my studio finishing the attached commissions. It was a good day!

Painting in freezing weather!
I painted on the corner of 2nd and Princess today in Wilmington - layers of clothing and new gloves kept me very warm, but after about 2 hours my feet felt like ice. It is not yet finished but I was so excited about my cold day roughing it on the street that I wanted to share and I look forward to getting back into it soon! I'll post the finished painting as soon as it is complete - you will see what happens to that yellow brick road.

I am looking forward to hearing Star Sosa, owner of Spectrum Gallery, speak about social networking for artists. It will be at 6:30 PM, Thursday, Sept 10 at the Arboretum. The talk is open to the public free of charge and sponsored by the Wilmington Art Association. A long-time Wilmington resident, Star is a jewelry designer who has been a craft show exhibitor, gallery exhibitor, buyer and gallery owner. Through her travels doing trunk shows in galleries all over the country she has learned how other people approach the business of art and jewelry; she has taken this knowledge and distilled it into Spectrum Gallery. Star’s beautiful website and her other interactive placements have led to her belief in the advantages of Marketing Your Art on the Web and other Creative Venues.
